Fusion means when two people unite and become a very powerful form. Each partner MUST be the same height, about the same power level and of course, should know the technique how to fuse..
When Goku and Vegeta unite, they can become in one of two different Saiyans. One is called Gogeta, and the other one is called Vegetto. (They can become individual again if they want) Becoming Vegetto was Goku and Vegeta's first experience to unite. Becoming one is not their favorite hobby but they have to because they know they will be losing the fight with their opponent. Vegetto was formed with Potarra earrings (one is wore by one person) which enabled Goku and Vegeta to unite. Vegetto looks like this...
There was one time when Vegeta became angry and destroyed his Potarra earring. Then Goku and Vegeta had no choice and do a fusion like Goten and Trunks do. Then they became fat Gogeta who couldn't even stand up! This was happened because they had made a mistake during the fusion. The correct fusion looks like this (in Super Saiyan)....
Trunks and Goten also do fusions. I think it's one of their favorite hobbies because they always do "Yaaaaaaaaay!" when they become fused! This fusion is just like Goku and Vegeta becoming Gogeta. Trunks and Goten become Super Gotenks which is the Japanese name, but the English one is Gotrunks. They look like this...
Piccolo and Kami also had a fusion when they were uniting again. Although they didn't have anything in different when they united but their power levels were far greater than Super Saiyan 1. I don't need to put a picture of what they look like when they fuse for you because it's the same body as Piccolo's. Even before Piccolo united with Kami, he had united with another Namek called Nail. Note that any of them don't have to be the same power level to fuse.
